Little Child
I wrote this song not long after I became a Christian at 18yrs old. It was actually about a guy that was my manager in a bar I worked in. He would mock me for being a Christian, and though he had a really tough exterior I felt like inside he was like a little child who just needed to know Gods love!
Verse 1
G G/B G/C
Young man thinks he's found a way
G G.B G/C
To numb the pain he found so..so many yesterdays
G G/B G/C G G/B G/C
But if we look beneath the lies....
Verse 2
G G/B G/C
Tearing down the things he left behind
G G/B G/C
Trying to find his shining sun in an evening sky
G G/B G/C
But should we look beneath the lies
G G/B G/C
We know too well we know too well...there's a child inside
Chorus:
G D/F*
And can you see
Am G/B G/C D
He's the picture of a one man family
C G G/B G/C
Looking for love where love cannot be
Verse 3
G G/B G/C
Looking behind he knows so well
G G/B G/C
The fondest memories are the hardest to kill
G G/B G/C
And should we look beneath the lies..
G G/B G/C
We know too well, we know too well...there's a child inside
Chorus:
G D/F*
And can you see
Am G/B G/C D
He's the picture of a one man family
C
Looking for love where love cannot be
G D/F* Am G/B G/C D
But he's thinking of a life that wouldn't be
C G
Through the eyes of this little child
